‘ GILLIES AND FRIENDS ’: BANK HOUSE LAUNCHES GUEST CHEF SERIES
Stuart Gillies , chef and co-founder of Bank House , has announced his new guest chef series ‘ Gillies and Friends ’, kicking off with Michelin starred chef Alyn Williams on 26 January 2022 . The event will mark the first in a series of hosted dinners from Gillies and guests , including Tim Hughes from Scott ’ s and Masterchef : The Professionals 2020 finalist Philli Armitage-Mattin .
Housed in a former brownstone Victorian bank on Chislehurst High Street , the first event in the guest chef series will see Alyn Williams ( who has worked with some of the most talented names in the industry including Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing and spent time in London ’ s top restaurants from The Berkeley , The Greenhouse , Zafferano , Chez Bruce to Pétrus ) cook alongside Gillies in the kitchen , something they haven ’ t done since Stuart ’ s first head chef role at Teatro , London .
Alongside Gillies , Williams will be taking the reins in the kitchen to deliver a selection of beautifully presented dishes drawing on French and British influences , while Bank House ’ s sommelier will be on hand throughout the evening to recommend a choice of organic and biodynamic wines to pair with the plates .

AWARD-WINNING HOLLAWAY STUDIO COMMISSIONED FOR MR DOODLE ’ S NEW STUDIO
The internet phenomenon and multi million pound selling global artist , Mr Doodle has commissioned Hollaway Studio to design his private artist ’ s studio in the grounds of his home in Tenterden . Planning has now been submitted for the design which once approved is due to be completed late 2022 .
Mr Doodle , aka Sam Cox , was born and raised in Tenterden , where he continues to live and work following his rapid success and global following . The creation of the ultimate work-from-home space as a personal extension of what he refers to as DoodleWorld , will be further enhanced by the commissioning of Kent and London based architects Hollaway Studio , with the new studio acting as a permanent embodiment of his artwork and will be situated like a sculpture in its own right within the beautifully landscaped Kent gardens of his home that have been redesigned by his wife , Mrs Doodle , aka Alena Cox .
Commenting on the plans Mr Doodle said : “ I am really excited about the creation of my Doodle Studio ! I am going to be so inspired to create loads of artworks there , right in the middle of my garden , I think it will be amazing ! It has been amazing to see the project go from the first sketch that Mrs Doodle made , all the way to what it is today . Hollaway Studio has done such a brilliant job of designing everything , the CGIs look superb , I just can ’ t wait for it to happen now .”
For Hollaway Studio the project is what the studio hopes will initiate a different way of thinking about buildings and what they represent on a greater level . As founder Guy Hollaway said , “ Wouldn ’ t the world be a better place if we changed how we thought about buildings ? Instead we started to collaborate more and better with artists to create a greater sense of what a building can be and what it can mean . Our work with Mr Doodle takes the artist ’ s studio far beyond the concept of four walls and makes something longlasting out of the relationship between art and architecture .”
