THE GIVING TREE RETURNS TO BLUEWATER
Bluewater will be bringing back The Giving Tree for its 8th year this festive season to support local disadvantaged children . The Giving Tree , which will be at Bluewater until Wednesday 22nd December , will invite shoppers to donate a gift directly to more than 50 local charities this Christmas . Shoppers select a gift tag from the tree to reveal the name and age of the child they can buy a present for . Once purchased , the gift should be brought back to the tree unwrapped and will be placed into the giant gift donation box ready for distribution .
Bluewater will have a ‘ Tap to Donate ’ stand again this year , allowing those who are time-poor , but still want to make a real difference this Christmas , to donate via contactless payment .
NINJA WARRIOR UK ADVENTURE PARK FOR CHATHAM WATERSIDE
Schroder UK Real Estate Fund ( SREF ) has announced that Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park will be opening its first experience in Kent at Chatham Waterside .
Inspired by the hit ITV entertainment show which sees contestants tackle a series of tough obstacle courses in a bid to be crowned Ninja Warrior for the UK , the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park provides a physical adventure experience for all the family . Occupying the 30,000 sq ft former Dickens World , the Chatham Waterside venue will be the latest for the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park brand , which already operates at over 10 different venues across the UK .
Other new openings at the site will include an 18,500 sq ft kids club and nursery facility , Gymfinity Kids , and plans for three new food and beverage outlets .
FERNHAM HOMES SITE MANAGER RECOGNISED BY NHBC FOR THIRD TIME
A Fernham Homes site manager has once again been recognised for his work at local new homes ’ development , Boughton Park . Site manager Martin Barth from East Peckham was presented with a Regional ( South East ) Pride in the Job Award in the Medium Sized Housebuilder category by the National House Building Council ( NHBC ). The award was presented to Martin who works for AB Canham and his team in recognition of the outstanding workmanship at the Boughton Park development , in Boughton Monchelsea .
As well as the Regional Award , Martin was presented with a Seal of Excellence Award by the NHBC , having won a further Quality Award earlier this year , and numerous other awards since he began work on Boughton Park in 2019 . Individuals are only chosen when their site is run to the highest standards and consistently produces new homes of outstanding quality .
Martin comments : “ I am overwhelmed that our hard work at Boughton Park has been recognised again – what a fantastic way to mark the end of the build . I started as a Groundworker for AB Canham over 25 years ago , so it means a lot to have been acknowledged on so many occasions by the NHBC .”
Paul Rosbrook , operations director for Fernham Homes , added : “ We ’ re all so proud of the impeccable work Martin and his team have carried out over the last few years at Boughton Park . Being recognised five times by the NHBC for the same site is an incredible achievement , and we are excited to see what he will go on to accomplish with future builds .”
KENT CHARITY NAMED RIDING SCHOOL OF THE YEAR
Team Tutsham Charitable Trust , based in West Farleigh , has been named the winner of The Equestrian Business Awards ’ Riding School of the Year 2021 sponsored by EBC .
The riding school , predominantly aimed at providing disadvantaged children with the opportunity to learn to horse ride , care for horses and socialise with children of varying ages and backgrounds , was founded by Maxine Buckby and Mark Finch , with GB dressage rider Daniel Watson as its patron .
“ It was a great pleasure to award Team Tutsham as Riding School of the Year 2021 ,” said The Equestrian Business Awards founder , Katy Wright . “ They offer so much more to children than just riding lessons . Team Tutsham take a holistic approach both to educating children about horse care and horse riding as well as to their personal development in many different ways , many of whom are disadvantaged . Not only this , but every child who visits Team Tutsham is welcomed with open arms and becomes part of their family . It is evident how much they emotionally invest in each and every child , treating them as their own .”
