TOP TREE TIPS CONT .
Choosing the Right Tree
There are many elements to consider when choosing the Christmas tree for you . But before you do anything , it ’ s important to think about shape and size . You don ’ t want to end up in a situation where the tree won ’ t fit through the door , it leaves marks on the ceiling or is so bushy you can ’ t see the TV . Start by measuring the space to gauge an idea of where the tree is going to be positioned . Measure the tree stand ( if you have one ) to determine the maximum diameter of the trunk , and don ’ t forget the height of the tree stand and topper – these measurements combined will ensure you don ’ t end up with a tree that ’ s ridiculously big or way too small . Most importantly though , write these figures down , you will need to take this when you go in search of your perfect tree – most places will be on hand to help .
If it ’ s a real tree you ’ re going for there are an overwhelming variety of species and the choice can leave you feeling a bit mind-boggled . We ' ve put together a little list of some of our favourites with help from the team at Forestry England ; you ’ ll be sure to find the one for you .
