Taj Cuisine ’ s award-winning chef , Abul Monsur , beat off stiff competition to land the title of Medway Curry Chef of the Year in 2020 , securing the recognition by presenting his best dishes to eight judges who were tasked with selecting the winner based on the appearance , aroma , texture and taste of each dish . After locking in his win , Abul said that he felt ‘ both happy and proud ’ but demonstrated both excellent sportsmanship and his kind nature by paying tribute to his competition and claiming that everybody there was a ‘ winner ’ for their achievement .
Having competed at the many more higher levels against lots of other well-known and highly esteemed national Asian restaurants , Monsur has been further recognised for having achieved excellence in Indian subcontinent cuisine .
