Pumpkin Picking – Various Locations
Pumpkin picking has taken the UK by storm over the last few years with more and more pumpkin patches springing up all over the Kent countryside each new October . Like most things Halloween , pumpkin picking is an activity that has made its way across the pond from the USA and families here have embraced this autumnal treat as our own .
So , put on your wellington boots as it ' s usually a muddy one ! Families can search through the fields with a wheelbarrow in tow on the lookout for their perfect pumpkin , whether it ’ s a perfectly spherical giant orange one , a warped and twisted shape or one that ’ s a non-traditional green or blue colour ( apparently these are the tastiest !) – you are sure to find your ideal jack o ’ lantern when pumpkin picking in Kent .
Pumpkins aren ’ t just for carving creepy faces into either ! Pumpkins are also the main ingredient in delicious Halloween dishes like pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie .
Being the garden of England , Kent is the lucky home to plenty of family friendly pumpkin patches on local farms . You are sure to drive past some on your travels and they are easy to find online , but we have listed some of the most popular patches across the county for you below :
