THE FISHSLAB GALLERY
The Fishslab Gallery based in the bustling high street of Whitstable welcomes established and emerging artists and is available for hire on a weekly basis . This gallery is a non-profit organisation run by a group of practicing creators . It was founded by two local artists who wanted to provide an affordable and attractive environment to showcase their own and other artists ’ work .

History :
The marble slab in the front window and the name provide the clue to the origins of the gallery , which used to be a fishmongers , selling fish caught by local fishermen . There is still a smokehouse at the back of the gallery .
