ALTHOUGH AN AGE-OLD CONCERN THAT WILL ALWAYS BE ASKED BY A PARENTS ’ CONSCIOUS , NO MATTER WHAT THE WORLD AROUND US LOOKS LIKE , IT IS A QUESTION THAT AFTER ALMOST TWO YEARS OF UNCERTAINTY IN OUR EDUCATION SECTOR ; WHICH COMBATTED THE CHALLENGES OF SCHOOL CLOSURES , ISOLATION , STAFF SHORTAGES , CANCELLED EXAMS , AND BUBBLES TO NAME BUT A FEW , THAT NOW SEEMS MORE PRESSING THAN EVER BEFORE .
ST EDMUND ’ S SCHOOL
This year , The Independent Schools Association told the Observer that it had noticed an ‘ upsurge in the number of what it describes as “ high-aspirational , worried ” parents of state school pupils looking for private school places in September .’ The Observer also reported that more than a dozen head teachers at private schools , contacted by the paper confirmed they had seen ‘ an extraordinary surge in inquiries from “ unhappy ” parents of state school pupils , with several schools across the country reporting a 20-30 % increase in demand for places .’
Whether your child is due to start a new senior school after leaving the comfort of their local primary or prep school , you are a parent looking to make the switch from state to independent , or are beginning or continuing your independent schooling journey , there are plenty of anxieties that come with selecting a new school for your child . You may regard university as the end-goal , or you may simply be seeking a happy and nurturing environment for your child to experience what should be some of their most exciting ( yet sometimes stressful ) years in .
Kent is the proud home to some of the best , most prestigious and well-renowned independent schools in the UK . With most located under an hour away from London , major airports and ports , their popularity is of course high , ( for both British and international students ) and so are the standards of teaching , sports , boarding and pastoral care . It comes as no surprise that sitting at the helms of these schools are teams and individuals whose passion and determination is channelled into making them the ideal environments in which students can form solid foundations in everything from the careers that they build , the life-long friendships they create to the people that they will become .
