THE NEW BISSELL ® POWERCLEAN :
MAKING LIGHT WORK OF HOME CLEANING
EMERGING FROM TWO WEEKS OF ISOLATION WITH THREE BORED AND MESS-MAKING KIDS SEEMED LIKE THE IDEAL OPPORTUNITY FOR SAMANTHA READY TO PUT THE NEW BISSELL ® POWERCLEAN TO THE ULTIMATE CLEANING TEST ...
It ’ s fair to say that the Ready household knows a thing or two about preparing a house for a cleaning test . In an attempt to really put the PowerClean through its paces , my delightful children had clearly spent their two weeks of isolation systematically destroying every room of the house ; from paint to PlayDoh , glitter to some dubious food smudges , and of course the littlest Ready ’ s continuing obsession with building work – which basically involves anything to do with sand and digging mud ; my pride and joy fluffy soft grey carpets resembled the kind of sticky mess reminiscent of dingy nightclub floors of the late 90 ’ s – yep yuck !
So with the most excitement I could muster for an afternoon of deep cleaning my mood was lifted when I remembered that I had the newest product from cleaning supremos BISSELL to try out . Offering a lightweight , space-saving solution for breathing new life into carpets I was intrigued to see the power behind the premise .
After unpacking , it was actually really easy to assemble following the picture based instructions , and in just a few clicks I was ready to go . Weighing in at just 5.6kgs , don ’ t let the sleek , lightweight design fool you , this compact packs a powerful cleaning punch . Although smaller than others on the market , the 600 watts of power ( twice as powerful as BISSELL ’ s lightest carpet cleaner ) brings some impressive oomph .
There are four rows of power brushes , which help to work the cleaning solution deep into the pile , and to areas that vacuums can ’ t reach , to remove everyday messes and stains on carpets and rugs . Whilst the two-tank technology means that clean and dirty water can ’ t mix and you never put dirty water back onto the carpet . Being so compact meant it worked particularly well in smaller spaces too .
The PowerClean offers both dry and wet cleaning . I opted for the later pressing the button to release the water and was off on my refresh mission .
So the result ?
Impressive ! Normal day to day dirt , hair and grime were instantly removed ( it also picks up bacteria , mites and deep dirt particles for those that need to know !) and carpets were instantly brighter . Even better , some slightly suspect make-up marks from our ‘ lockdown beauty salon ’, that hadn ’ t budged despite a can ’ s worth of ‘ vanishing ’ wizardry , suddenly disappeared before my eyes , as worryingly the dirty water tank changed to a dodgier shade of brown than anticipated .
I finished that first room in around 25 minutes , which was also when the clean water tank needed a refill ( a necessary side effect of its compact nature and not as annoying as it sounds ). After cleaning , the carpets smelt clean rather than overpowered with fragrance and , reassuringly , were damp rather than sopping wet , drying totally in about 2 hours .
Once completed I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh , brighter appearance of all of the floors , not just those that had more wear and stains than normal , and it was also really easy to empty , clean and store the PowerClean ready for its next saviour appearance .
Compact , lightweight and offering some powerful cleaning , the BISSELL ® PowerClean packs a huge punch . Available from major retailers and direct from bisselldirect . co . uk for just RRP £ 149.99 , it is the powerful , versatile performance you shouldn ’ t live without .
