SHEPHERD NEAME

BRITAIN ’ S OLDEST BREWER
How could we talk about Kent breweries without mentioning the juggernaut that is Shepherd Neame ? With a pub down every street and near on a pint in every hand , there is not a brewery running today that can rival the unparalleled success of this titan of industry . With beers that range from back to basics pale ales , to fruity IPA ’ s , to perfectly smooth stouts , Shepherd Neame brews it all at their very own Faversham-based brewery . They have certainly put their hoppy stamp on the 21st century brewing industry , but being Britain ’ s oldest brewer , at over 400 years old , they have got a few centuries old tricks up their sleeve . Priding themselves on using natural , local ingredients and Kent grown hops , Shepherd Neame manages to create magic with just four basic ingredients . Despite their long and storied history , that hasn ’ t stopped Shepherd Neame looking to invest into the future . Having been brewing on the same site for centuries their commitment to the town of Faversham can be seen in their recycling efforts , which include recycling an incredible 97 % of their grain and hops . That ' s not even mentioning their £ 3 million water recovery plant which allows waste water to be recycled – the brewery has made immense strides in being as green as possible to insure a bright future for the entire brewing industry .

FLOC . BREWING

WHERE BEER IS BEAUTIFUL
Relatively new on the scene is Margate based Floc . Brewing , but that hasn ’ t stopped the dedicated team of brewers making quite the explosive entrance into the Kentish beer scene . With the tagline ‘ Beer is Beautiful ’ it is no wonder that beer enthusiasts everywhere have been lining up to get their hands on each bewitching brew . The edgy , wild-child of breweries in the South East , Floc .’ s beer is vegan and unfiltered to ensure their bodacious beers never have to compromise their unparalleled flavour . Perhaps most impressive is one of their latest IPA releases ; Rising of Dreams , whose bold and fruity flavour becomes an explosion of citrus , mango and orange in the mouth ; perfect for anyone wanting a light tipple that packs a flavourful punch . Floc . is not only dedicated to pure brewing brilliance , they are also making strides to invest and better the community in which they live and brew , having held multiple events and competitions that benefit local charities such as Canterbury-based Porchlight .
