THANET ’ S RISING STARS WIN PATRONS SCHOLARSHIPS

Two rising stars from Thanet have been awarded scholarships to study at Canterbury ’ s JGH Theatre Arts Academy from September 2021 .
Aenea Goult , who currently attends Dane Court Grammar School , Broadstairs has been awarded the ‘ Joanne Clifton Scholarship ’, whilst Madeleine Doody , who currently attends Chatham House Grammar School , Ramsgate , has won the ‘ Jenna Russell Scholarship ’ to train on the academy ’ s Musical Theatre sixth form course from September 2021 .
Strictly Come Dancing champion , Joanne Clifton , and Eastenders ’ Jenna Russell , were recently named as Patrons of JGH Academy which was founded in January 2021 by theatre producer , Joseph Hodges and casting director , Jay Gardner , to bring a West End stage school-style training , that still places a high importance on academic qualifications , to Canterbury .
The students will receive 45 hours of practical training in singing , acting and dancing each week alongside their academic studies to gain a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts ( equivalent to 3 A Levels ) and each academic year will include two professional performances at the nearby Malthouse Theatre with a live orchestra and professional creative team .
Both Joanne and Jenna will be dropping in on the students to give masterclasses and share their wisdom alongside JGH ’ s faculty of the Musical Theatre industry ’ s finest teachers and performers .

Visitors to the Albion Street hotspot , which opened on 17th May , can delight in the 1920s architecture , beautiful tones and bespoke design elements including banquette bar seating designed by Lee himself and fabricated by N & J Upholstery .
HEIGHT OF LUXURY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT SET TO TRANSFORM THE SKYLINE OF ASHFORD
Ambitious plans to build a multi-million pound , landmark residential development in Ashford have been approved .
The Infinity Ashford development , named in honour of eminent mathematician , infinity pioneer and Ashford-born John Wallis , will be built at the junction of Beaver Road and Avenue Jacques Faucheux , a short walk south of the town centre and opposite Ashford International Station .
Offering 216 homes , a rooftop restaurant providing 360 ° views over the town and an attractive elevated landscaped courtyard set in the middle of the buildings , the scheme , by developer , A Better Choice for Property Ltd , is expected to take two years and will also feature one of Kent ’ s tallest buildings .
