HOME + GARDEN
A Curated Home cont ...
“ I tend to not follow trends too much . You don ’ t want a space to look as though you ’ ve tried too hard . I ’ m definitely not into anything too ‘ show home ’. You spend so much time at home , it ’ s your own personal space . It should be filled with things that make you feel happy . My own home is quite eclectic in that we have a mix of vintage , mid-century and quite modern . I ’ m happy sourcing furniture from antique fairs as much as I am scouting round John Lewis . I ’ m not too precious about it . I do love my home to feel homely and lived in . I particularly like berber rugs , Aztec prints and wall rugs .”

FOLLOWING TRENDS

Often overwhelming and hard to keep up with , trends in art , like anything , come and go . Scandi and Japandi continue to be at the pinnacle of design lovers artistic aspirations – as modern , minimalist and simple spaces infused with bold abstract art prints in blues , pinks , yellow , and greys offer a timeless contrast . Linear drawings , figures and faces in art , though hardly new , continue to be extremely popular in the world of interiors and trend followers . Sculptural elements are also frequently used to create carefully curated spaces – think organic forms paired with neutral palettes .
Yet , with trends in art being short lived , it ’ s often advised to steer away from religiously following trends and invest in artwork that ’ s inspired , that triggers emotion and tells a story .
Art work is an expression of personality , personal taste and what you love .
