Never has there been a more fitting time to launch our annual arts issue . A time when words , music , film , and the arts have lifted our lockdown spirits . A time when we can finally welcome the reopening of our much-loved and much-missed arts venues , events and happenings . A time when once again , critical cuts to arts education is back on a misguided Government agenda . A time where creativity may take courage , but it is oh so worth it !
As a writer , a creative director , a creative education consultant , and an activist for arts accessibility and employability , it ’ s fair to say that this issue has a special place in my heart . Curating it has been made all the more wonderful as my passion is shared by my brilliant team . Bursting with professional creatives ; writers , designers , photographers , illustrators , poets , musicians , and artists , ( not forgetting Anna who can throw some mean shapes on the dancefloor …), # TeamSideways is a vibrant mix of creative spirits who have simply LOVED bringing this issue to fruition – a joy that has been shared by the fabulous artists , curators , makers , doers , venues , attractions , schools , and more that have supported us and who firmly put Kent on the Arts Map !
