Opening on Saturday , May 29 a new , temporary exhibition ‘ Hidden Heroines ’ uncovers the untold stories of the women of the Dockyard throughout its 400-year history , right up to present day – from the women of the Spinning Rooms and Sail and Colour Loft , to tales of stowaways , women masquerading as men and the extraordinary women whose impact left a lasting legacy .

Get your magnifying glasses and green fingers ready for fun filled outdoor garden themed activities in celebration of National Garden Wildlife Week . Even the youngest visitors can explore , investigate and learn how to plant and grow seeds at Leeds Castle ’ s Garden Wildlife Week event . Go on a ‘ BugSafari ’ and discover all types of bugs and insects as you explore the Castle estate . A ‘ Wildlife Trail ’ will take families on a fun adventure through the grounds , following clues to find animal illustrations and hidden answers in order to complete a trail card . The excitement continues in the ‘ Sunflower Marquee ’ near the Maze , where younger visitors are invited to plant their own sunflower seeds to take home and watch grow ( small additional charge applies ).
