Situated in the picturesque village of Sissinghurst , just half a mile from the castle and gardens , The Milk House is the perfect postcard pub . Steeped in history , the restaurant and rooms have been cleverly restored to incorporate original features with a refreshing modern twist . A popular spot amongst the locals , the bar celebrates some of Kent ’ s finest beers and wines from just around the corner . The seasonal menu offers a take on classic pub food using only fresh , locally sourced ingredients – there is also a lighter grazing menu available – but in the summer it ’ s the terrace you ’ ll be heading here for . Home to a traditional wood-fired pizza oven , The Milk House has built up a reputation for its mouth watering pizzas topped with local charcuterie , cheese , vegetables , and herbs ! There is also the outside , ‘ Hopper Hut ’ bar , inspired by 19th century hop pickers , as you can imagine this place is very popular . We couldn ’ t possibly miss out the The Waterfront Restaurant and Bar in our round up of al fresco dining ‘ must visits ’. Formerly the Hythe Bay Bar and Grill , the space is currently undergoing the final touches of it ’ s refurbishment following its rebranding . Boasting amazing views across the Hythe coastline , it ’ s the perfect spot to enjoy a spot of lunch and an ice cold beer . The menu serves up fresh , seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients and we can be sure to expect something amazing – bring on the 12th April !
