WELCOME

March is a month that always feels a bit special ...
Notwithstanding the fact that it ’ s full of birthday celebrations in the Ready house , March always seems to bring with it just a little bit more sunshine , happiness and zest for life – things that we all need right now !
From the clocks springing forward to the wonder of spring produce , spring blooms , spring lambs , and better days ahead , this year more than ever , I , for one , am grateful that the change of seasons not only shows that the world keeps moving forward , but also opens the doors ( quite literally ) to being able to get back out to explore our wonderful county , just as soon as it is safe to do so .
March is also the month we rightly hail women everywhere . In celebration of International Women ’ s Day , Mother ’ s Day and the fact that we are just damn good ! insideKENT is proud to dedicate this issue to Kent ’ s Power Women !
From f : entrepreneurs bossing it in style , to artists , authors , chefs , producers and our expert guest writers , this issue is full of inspiring stories , topical advice , respect , and praise , all starting on p13 .

In a year when mums ( and dads , and support bubbles , and teachers ...) have had to incorporate the absolute carnage that is homeschool into their day to day existence ; and as the nation prepares to shift again with the promise of schools reopening ; it is never more apt that our March issue heralds one of our annual dedicated education features .
Throughout lockdown , I too have navigated homeschooling – my journey involved a toddler , new school starter and a pre-GCSE teen – I feel the pain truly ! Yet , just as the seasons keep changing , the academic year keeps cycling too .
This year , like never before , the decisions regarding education choices will go far beyond classroom delivery , curriculum success and extracurricular ambition ; with a focus on the holistic approach of mental health and wellbeing ; remote learning policies ; and ‘ catch-up ’ programmes .
In and amongst the uncertainty and changes to the education landscape , we can at least be reassured that Kent boasts world-leading institutions , nationally acclaimed education settings and a resilience and adaptive approach to learning that is unrivalled .
Read about our top schools , building resilience and preparing for a return to school from p119 . And discover the top educational play resources on p140 .
Think your days of education are over ? Think again ! Find out just why your own lifelong learning journey should continue on p144 ; as well as discovering some of the inspired educational experiences that are waiting for you to explore in Kent , in association with Kent Staycation on p41 .
If lockdown , homeschooling or life in general is leaving you in need of a lie down , then prepare to zen in style , for March is National Bed Month –
