This isn ’ t your average pub lunch , this is a place to come on a special Sunday when you want to indulge . Try their exquisite roasted beef sirloin with an array of sides including beef dripping potatoes , crushed neeps , seasonal greens , onion , Yorkshire pudding and red wine gravy ; or their roasted pork belly , with buttered kale , neeps , dripping roasties , roasted beets and apple sauce . Thanks to Thackeray ’ s head chef , Patrick Hill , the food is famous for being experimental and exceptional , so if you fancy something a little different for your Sunday lunch this is the place to experiment . Why not try their Cornish turbot , which comes with saffron poached Borlotti beans , miso glazed heritage carrots and coriander yogurt ; the rump of hogget with star anise puy lentils and sweetbread stuffed shallots ; or perhaps the pan-fried cod , with seafood agnolotti , cumin and tomato bisque , confit fennel and cherry tomatoes will tickle your taste buds .
