Westwell Wines
Kent is at the heart of the UK ’ s forever growing wine industry , it ’ s south facing chalk soils and moderate temperatures shows similarities to that of France , so it ’ s no surprise that in the past 10 years vineyards have been popping up everywhere . The county is now home to over 50 established vineyards , with some boasting award-winning wines , many of which are sold in high-end outlets across the UK , and most offer the chance to discover how wine is produced in Kent through guided tours .
Westwell Wines is located just under the Pilgrims Way , on the North Downs between Westwell and Charing , sitting on over 13 acres of land . Join the team on a guided tour of the estate and discover the post-harvest journey , explore the winery and learn how the wines are crafted with very low intervention . See how different methods are used to amplify different characteristics in the wines and finish with a tutored tasting of 5 fabulous Westwell creations . Learn how Westwell , since a takeover in 2017 , are moving towards a more natural , sustainable future – working and supporting local businesses , encouraging recycling and composting , and thinking of innovative ways to reuse waste and by-products . An educational experience all round , with a glass or two to finish – what more could you want ?
