NEW STATE OF THE ART BUILDING FOR EBBSFLEET GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Ebbsfleet Green Primary School is looking forward to a brand new school building . Situated in the heart of the Garden City , the Maritime Academy Trust school and specialist provision resource centre , helps to meet the needs of local children and the increasing demand for school places in Dartford and Gravesham .
Richard Bysouth , operations director , Kier Regional Building London and South East , commented : “ The whole structure is built off-site in modules . This modern , innovative method of construction has many advantages , including significantly reducing on-site waste and clear benefits in terms of quality , cost , and health and safety . It has been great to work with the team from Ebbsfleet Green Primary School and the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation .”
The school will have a large open plan library and light , spacious classrooms positioned around a large central courtyard . It will look out onto beautiful grounds with a wildlife area and dipping pond , plus a vegetable garden which will be created by students .
Works are expected to be completed by August and the school will be ready to receive pupils from nursery to year 3 , currently being housed at Bligh Infant and Junior School in Rochester , in September 2021 .
RANDOM ACT OF KING ’ S-NESS
Pupils at King ’ s Rochester are challenging everyone at the school , and in the wider Medway community , to carry out one random act of kindness , each day , throughout the current lockdown . The brainchild of King ’ s Chemistry teacher Mrs Hanson , the initiative came about to help everyone to get through the third national lockdown .
Until February half-term , King ’ s will post pupils ’ suggestions as a challenge on their website and social media channels , with
the hope that the wide-reaching community of parents , pupils , staff , and friends will take on and attempt to carry out one of the challenges .
To get involved , send your snaps of your Random Act of King ’ s-ness via social media , where they will be shared to inspire others to participate too .
The challenges can be viewed each morning at www . kings-rochester . co . uk until half term .
VIRTUAL JOURNEYS AT SUTTON VALENCE SCHOOL
The tests were lined up , the sanitisers deployed in bulk and the ‘ 2 metres apart ’ stickers affixed around the school … Yet as has almost become normal in these Coronavirus days , all strategy had to be changed overnight following the Government announcement for schools to close .
Luckily , at Sutton Valence School , the online provision entitled ‘ Virtual Journeys ’ offers a complete guide to online learning . Developed during the first lockdown , and executed with great success during that time , the comprehensive guides ensure that the continuation of the students ’ education is maintained to the highest standard . As well as enabling pupils to follow their usual timetable via live lessons on Zoom , with resources , prep and all work available on Microsoft Teams and OneNote , the School continues to work hard to ensure that opportunities for moral , spiritual and personal development continue to be available .
