Did anything go wrong ?
Nothing went wrong , we are always well prepared . It ’ s more about how you deal with the constant challenges , both large and small , that present themselves throughout each project . This can be from simple things like deliveries arriving late or incorrectly , to machinery or tool failure , staff sickness or just a run of bad weather . Having these types of things happen hour after hour across multiple sites can be rather stressful , but as project managers that ’ s what we ’ re there for !
What was your biggest surprise ?
Our biggest surprise for this project was how the plans were to double the square footage by combining two houses , however the end result somehow feels more than double , more like double and a half . The layout flows really well whilst still allowing you to find somewhere cosy to relax in one of the living spaces .
What are you most proud of ?
Our business reputation is everything and we ’ re most proud of the client feedback and their overall satisfaction with our service and finished product . When a client calls to say they feel like they are ‘ living in a magazine ’ in their dream home that means everything .
What are your hints and tips for those looking to embark on a property renovation project ?
Get expert advice and build good relationships with contractors and suppliers . Get them onside and they ’ ll go the extra mile . Also be realistic regarding budget and schedule and be prepared to be creative or compromise .
What ' s next for Fred & Ginger ?
Currently we have several renovations and new builds booked in the diary so have a busy 2021 and 2022 ahead . Future projects include : the full restoration of a four bed Victorian beach front house ; a contemporary Scandi barn style 4000 sq ft new build on a private beach ; the renovation of a large double fronted Edwardian beach house with the addition of a contemporary two-storey rear extension ; the total make-over and remodelling of a large 1980 ’ s beachfront house set on a double plot ; and a restaurant fitout with a courtyard garden and holiday let above ! Amongst many others !
