Our next charity is asking for a more traditional form of donation this year . Porchlight is the Kentish charity aiming to end homelessness in our little county . Just some of the incredible work they do includes preventing vulnerable people becoming homeless through providing personalised support services and providing housing and education to those most isolated . Porchlight also actively challenges negative and dangerous attitudes and stereotypes towards people living in poverty , the homeless and those dealing with mental illnesses . Unfortunately due to Covid-related safety concerns the charity are no longer able to accept donations of food or clothing , however they are still able to accept monetary donations which will go towards helping homeless or isolated people all over Kent develop vital skills , get an education , find housing and give them the opportunity and support to live the life they want to live . And that ’ s not the only way you can help . Foodari Home Delivery – launched in response to lockdown to bring locally grown fruits , vegetables and more to your doorstep – is supporting Porchlight this festive season with a donation of £ 5 from every Christmas Turkey Box sold going to Porchlight to help ensure that homeless and vulnerable people in Kent have somewhere safe to call home .
Order your Turkey Box at foodarihomedelivery . com and visit www . porchlight . org . uk to make a real difference this Christmas .
Kent ’ s Association for the Blind
One of the best things about Christmas is getting a good old Christmas card in the post . All year long we get emails instead of physical letters and then the festive season rolls around and the postman has never been so busy ! This season why not hit two birds with one stone and buy some beautifully designed cards from Kent ' s Association for the Blind ( KAB ). The cards range from depictions of the nativity scene , to festive scenic cards with little robins sitting in the snow , to more simplistic modern designs — there really is a card for every taste here . Starting at £ 3.00 for packs of 10 , these are a fantastic way to give back and support someone ' s future while also getting yourself some enviable Christmas cards ! KAB is a local Kent based charity that helps sight impaired people live independent lives , they currently work with over 12,500 people and endeavour to help avoidable sight loss , while also supporting and rehabilitating people who have already lost their sight .
