Never have we ever felt so lucky to call the Garden of England our home . For our county plays host to some of the most beautiful paths in the country . Whether you are meeting for a socially distanced social stroll , pushing yourself through a minus temperature marathon , a family who likes long hikes along cliff tops , or a household that rather prefer a short and sweet ramble you can even take the dog on , we have some winter walk recommendations for you .
THEY ’ LL BE WALKERS OVER ...
Is there anything more iconic to Kent than the stunning White Cliffs of Dover ? These natural landmarks are the perfect place for a crisp walk . The chalky hills and grassy banks are the ideal place for some cosy Instagram worthy pics of you and your loved ones huddled together against the bracing wind . Some ultra stylish Christmas jumpers and some fashion-forward walking boots are a must here ! Be sure to give yourself plenty of daylight time to catch the incredible , breathtaking views of the stony beaches below and the rippling seas that stretch out seemingly infinite into the horizon . Get that blood pumping and those cheeks all rosy with this brisk but stunning jaunt along our historic coastline . On a clear winters day enjoy views of France , the ferries bobbing two and fro between our two shores , and if you look closely you can even spot two ghostly shipwrecks abandoned on the shores ! Once you ’ ve enjoyed the spectacular scenic views take a pew and watch as the sun takes its final bow for the day , slowly descending behind the horizon staining the sky with yellows , oranges , pinks and purples , until finally fading into the deep black of a chilly Christmas night , only punctuated by twinkling white stars . The great thing about this walk is that it can be as short or as long as you want . Want a short romantic stroll along the cliffs ? Simply follow the wheelchair-friendly footpath to a viewing point where you can truly appreciate the beauty of this incredible walk .
