On Friday 13 November , Produced in Kent launched its third and final Caring Customer appeal through the Support Your Local campaign , a campaign in support of the Kent food and drink industry which it has been running with Visit Kent since July 2020 . The appeal urges locals to sign a pledge citing that they will be a # caringcustomer and share this online with friends and family . The two previous appeals were hugely successful with close to 1.5k pledges signed so far and the Support Your Local web page receiving almost 5,000 views .
To say thank you to the many caring customers across the county who sign the pledge , four winners will be chosen at random mid December to win one of the following fantastic prizes ( redeemable in 2021 ):
First Prize : A midweek stay for two , including dinner and breakfast at The Pig at Bridge Place
Second Prize : A special guided gin-making experience for two at Maidstone Distillery
Third Prize : A three-course meal plus drinks for two at The Ferry House Inn , Isle of Sheppey
Fourth Prize : A high-end afternoon tea for two at The Bakehouse at 124 , Tonbridge
With the second lockdown in place until December , there are other ways in which we can support our favourite pubs , restaurants , tea rooms and other hospitality venues in Kent . Why not order a take-away meal or drink from your pub ? Or make your loved-one happy with a foodie gift-voucher for Christmas ?
Supporting your local also supports the food and drink supply chain that sits behind it . By buying a take-away or a voucher , you support a whole range of businesses and keep people in jobs so that we will still be able to enjoy the amazing food and drink Kent has on offer in 2021 .

3 AA ROSETTES FOR SALTWOOD RESTAURANT
The small fine dining restaurant Hide & Fox in the village of Saltwood , Hythe , opened in June 2019 as a welcome addition to the food scene in Kent . It has quickly attracted the attention and interest of food inspectors and critics ; the AA Guide awarded 2 Rosettes for the new opening last year , followed shortly by more visits , impressed by the team talents and passion . Despite one of the most challenging years , 2020 has brought excellent news , as well as bad , and Hide & Fox has been recognised as one of the best restaurants in the South East and is proud to hold the 3 AA rosettes accolade . Described by the guide managing director Simon Numphud as ‘ A cosy intimate restaurant with a contemporary setting , where a strong local reputation has been quickly established .’ With ‘ Precision cooking utilising the very best seasonal Kentish produce ’.
Patrons Allister Barsby and Alice Bussi and their team are extremely proud of the fantastic achievement and look forward to welcoming many more new guests !
