RECYCLING4GOOD SAY ‘ THANK YOU ’ TO KENT
Recycling4Good would like to thank their community for helping them to divert waste from landfill or incineration to be recycled with TerraCycle .
FREE VIRTUAL TOUR OF LULLINGSTONE CASTLE ’ S FAMOUS WORLD GARDEN IN KENT
Adam Hunter , founder of Kent-based volunteer-led Recycling4Good , along with TerraCycle , passed on a massive thank you as part of Recycle Week 2020 ( 21-27 September ) to the people of the county who have continued to think of the planet ’ s wellbeing and kept on recycling , despite the unique challenges that have arisen as a result of COVID-19 .
Adam set up a public access drop-off location at his home in 2017 and has since expanded across Kent , enabling the entire county to collect otherwise unrecyclable waste such as crisp packets and coffee capsules which cannot be recycled by the local council , and would otherwise end up in landfill or incineration . TerraCycle also awards a charitable donation for each parcel of waste sent in for recycling .
Adam commented : “ We are so grateful for all the support we ’ ve received from people across Kent who are collecting waste , particularly over the last few months during lockdown . During the lockdown , many local recyclers stored the waste packaging at home they normally drop off to our locations , until the restrictions were eased and they were able to travel to drop it off . We couldn ’ t have done it without you and your efforts have meant that 5 million pieces of waste have been diverted from landfill and incineration , and you have helped raise over £ 50,000 for Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex . We are always looking for more support though , so anyone interested in helping us can find out where to take their waste on our Facebook group ( www . facebook . com / charityrecycling ) and tell their friends and family to do the same .”
