WEDDINGS LUCY MOHR: CAPTURING REAL MOMENTS MY FAVOURITE WEDDING PHOTOS ARE BY FAR THE ONES THAT TELL A STORY; THOSE THAT CONVEY A SENSE OF EMOTION, OF ANTICIPATION, OF LOVE, AND THAT GIVE A REAL FEEL FOR THE SHEER AMOUNT OF FUN THAT’S HAPPENING IN THE ROOM. It might appear easy to an untrained eye, but taking images that paint an emotional picture isn’t as simple as it might first seem. You need to instinctively sense what is about to come, which means you have to be very in tune with people, the mood of the room and the emotions and relationships between each individual. It can be a skill that is quite hard to turn off when you're not working – although often I wish I could! My favourite part about wedding photography is having the privilege to be invited into people’s lives. A wedding is one of the most personal experiences a couple will ever share with one another, and you get to be there to witness – in the now famous words of Richard Curtis – that love actually is all around. No matter how many times I witness it, it always gives me butterflies. Lucy Mohr Photography www.lucymohrstudio.com 94
