The sporty Spice Girl and the legendary club night collective have joined forces on a tour of Pride events around the globe throughout the summer and will be calling in on Margate Pride on Saturday 10th August. Expect all the hits, all the sequins and all the eleganza extravaganza as the Sink The Pink crew join Melanie C on Dreamland’s Scenic Stage for an unforgettable evening. The popular event, held annually at this delightful hideaway in Platt (close to Sevenoaks), is highly regarded by plant nuts in the horticultural world. Elmer The Patchwork Elephant Show features a menagerie of 21 loveable puppets and tells the tale of an elephant that stands out – both with his patchwork-coloured skin and his sense of humour – but ultimately realises that his friends have always valued his unique characteristics. 10-11, 17-18, 23-26 AUG JOUSTING AT HEVER CASTLE Hever Castle, Hever www.hevercastle.co.uk Time: from 10.30am Price: £14.95 (children 5-17, £9.40) The Knights of Royal England will be entertaining the crowds with exhilarating displays of action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic arena complete with a royal box. Battling it out in the saddle and on foot in one-to-one combat, the valiant knights will then compete for points to find this season’s ultimate champion. Surrounded by award-winning gardens and dating back to the 13th century, historic Hever Castle provides a picturesque setting for a fantastic day of jousting. A day of family activities themed around the castle’s Buddhist collection. Everyone can learn more about Buddhist art and culture, try some family friendly yoga and meditation, explore the grounds with a mindfulness walk, taste traditional matcha tea and enjoy some creative crafts. 13, 14, 20 AUG ALL SORTS OF FUN FOR LITTLE ONES! Tiny Tots Farmyard Crafting and Baking on 13th August is a lovely morning spent making jammy thumb-print cookies and some cow-themed crafts, before heading outside to meet the real cows at Bore Places (3-6yrs). Summer Crafts on the 14th August is all about messy and creative crafting with nature, allowing kids to make mud gargoyles, natural paint and paintbrushes, and clay nature impressions (6-11yrs). And, the Teddy Bears’ Picnic on 20th August (3-6yrs) is all about younger children having a wonderful morning exploring the produce in the vegetable garden to make a picnic for themselves and their teddies!
