Ales on Rails and Fish and Chip Suppers are part
of the popular Summer Diesel Gala which takes
place on 2nd and 3rd August, which this year features
visiting Class 27 27001 and Class 42 Warship No.
D821 Greyhound. Class 27 27001 is travelling all
the way from Scotland to take part in the gala and
Class 42 Warship D821 Greyhound is making its
first visit away to another heritage railway from the
Severn Valley Railway in over five years.

The world’s first cycling theatre company, The
Handlebards, pedal from venue to venue with all
the set, props and costume necessary to perform
environmentally friendly Shakespeare across the
globe. Their all-male troupe are heading to
Tonbridge on Tuesday 6th August for a bicycle-
powered production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About
Nothing like no other. In usual Handlebards style,
audiences can expect riotous amounts of energy, a
fair old whack of chaos and a great deal of laughter.

expert) will be leading the bug-hunting Park Safaris
throughout the school summer holidays. The Park
Safaris are aimed at families with children of all ages
who want to learn more about the insects that share
their home with us. The Park Safaris will take place
at the following parks: Grosvenor & Hilbert Park,
St John’s Recreation Ground, Tunbridge Wells
Common and Dunorlan Park.
