Pulling back the drapes in the
bedroom/lounge area revealed
large wooden doors that opened
directly onto the beach and to our
own private pool.

to head across the vast jetty to the
dive centre and make use of the
snorkelling area.
For family beach fun this was perfect!
Sandy toes were washed off on the
deck, afternoon naps taken on the
beachside day bed and hours were
whiled away in the cooling waters
of the pool. Venturing out from the villa also
enables you to explore the 14 different
food and beverage options on the
resort – everything from free ice cream
for the children at La Cremeria,
beachside cocktails at the Water’s Edge
bar and daily buffet options at the
sandy floored Iru restaurant with its
world buffet options and separate kids’
buffet area.
There was also a welcoming (and air
conditioned!) kids’ club with splash
pool, arts and crafts and activities with But, it’s at the à la carte restaurants
that dining here really excels. Our
faves were the over-water dining
options, both of which offered a separate kids’ menu. Trio was perfect for lunch
with Italian favourites bruschetta, garlic flatbread and stone-baked pizzas followed
by oozing chocolate fondants and passionfruit semifreddo, whilst Flavours offered
classic French fine dining: scallops, foie gras and French onion soup, alongside
steamed reef fish and filet of beef, which we followed with tarte Normande and
pot de crème; a dining experience made all the more exciting by the five-foot
sharks swimming below – what a way to end a stay!
