TOWNSPOTLIGHT SPOTLIGHT ON WYE CONT. Things to Do Wye Parish Church of St Gregory and St Martin The church in Wye is a place that should be visited if you love architecture, beautiful buildings, or places of peace and tranquility. Not only is it a beautiful church, but there are many different activities and groups that take place there on a weekly basis, so finding new hobbies and making new friends will never be difficult here. The Stour Valley Walk Since the Stour is such a major part of Wye, and certainly at least one of the reasons why it became a settlement in the first place, it makes sense for visitors and locals to take part in the Stour Valley Walk. The walk, as the name suggests, follows the Stour across the Low Weald and the North Downs. It’s 58 miles in total, so you probably won’t want to tackle it all at one go, but enjoying the stretch that passes by and through Wye is a must. If you do want to try the whole thing, you can break it up into sections and try it over a series of days. Wye Farmers’ Market Wye Farmers’ Market has been providing its local community with delicious, fresh, locally produced food for over ten years. With an enviable array of stalls selling everything from fresh bread, cakes, jams and chutneys to locally produced organic meats, fresh fish and locally made cheeses, they care passionately about their local food producers and work hard to bring you the very best of the county’s larder. They also have frequent seasonal events and competitions, and the free bouncy castle always helps keep the little ones entertained! WYE PARISH CHURCH OF ST GREGORY WYE FARMERS’ MARKET 62
