For one weekend only, step back in time to the 1940s and experience harvest season during wartime Britain. Spend time in authentic wartime school lessons, learn about the crucial roles of the Worldwide Veterinary Service( WVS) and nursing services. Alongside RAF troops in training, the hardworking land army and even a wartime harvest festival service in the chapel.
The start of the spooky season sees Hever Castle & Gardens transform into a spine-tingling, haunted experience as Spooktacular Science takes over the grounds throughout Halloween half term. Young visitors can embark on Hever’ s Mad Scientists Trail, searching for spellbinding clues and curious creations along the way, alongside craft activities and science-themed fun to discover while you’ re there.

TONBRIDGE ANNUAL FIREWORK DISPLAY Tonbridge Castle, Tonbridge
A perfect introduction to the art of willow weaving, which is recognised as one of the oldest crafts in the world, dating back to 8,000 BC in Egypt. The workshop will introduce you to traditional skills forged through centuries of practice. Start the day by learning about different types of willow, handling the materials and learning about why particular willows are used. The rest of the day will be spent crafting a small basket for you to take home.
Back for another year, the annual fireworks display is set on the Tonbridge Racecourse Sports Ground and is hosting a Halloween theme this year. Featuring a soundtrack of spooky songs and spectacular fireworks, the vibrant atmosphere is paired with a number of food stalls and live music across the evening. The event is family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
