Come together to bring in the Kentish cobnut harvest this September. The annual event offers a chance to get involved, helping to pick the cobnuts set on the Ightham Mote estate. Followed by a hearty lunch and a cricket game to finish, the open day is suitable for all ages and abilities, helping to keep the tradition of the cobnut harvest alive.
This unique summer festival is held in Croakham Farm, embracing the local countryside, supporting local talent and enjoying the last of the British summertime. Over the two days, you can enjoy live music and farm activities including tractor rides alongside an artisan market with local creatives and a healing village, where you can unwind and take a much-needed break.

APPLE PRUNING COURSE Bore Place, Edenbridge

THE PIRATES OF … PENZANCE? Gulbenkian Arts Centre, Canterbury 10- 12 Sep
Run by the underwoodsman, the course will start at Bore Place looking at pruned apple trees from January to see how well they have responded. The course will then continue to observe well-established apple trees that have been maintained over a number of years and learn how to summer-prune them to encourage flower set, fruiting yield and restrict growth, all rounded off with a Kentish cream tea of homemade jams and scones.
Performed by the Canterbury Musical Theatre Society, this is an enjoyable musical performance filled with laugh-out-loud wit and endless entertainment. Setting the scene with confused pirates, fierce daughters and incompetent police, the musical production takes on Gilbert and Sullivan’ s beloved classic with a fresh new spin. Suitable for all ages.
