WELCOME
Usually my welcome for insideKENT is a rundown of all the fab things that this issue contains … and fear not, that’ s to come … But, as I was about to put this issue to print this month I was reminded that, as we do for so many local businesses every issue, sharing the story behind the business matters and perhaps we haven’ t been shouting about our own as much as we could have.
As a small Kent-based family business, we’ re proud that with hard work, unwavering commitment to our home county and a lot of creative chaos, we have grown insideKENT from humble beginnings to become Kent’ s largest magazine; a quality monthly publication that’ s distributed and delivered in print and online across the county, and made right here in Kent. We’ re also supported by a great team of locally employed legends who work across sales, editorial, design, marketing and operations- our work family- who are our biggest supporters; we can’ t thank them enough.
In our last issue alone we showcased a staggering 240 local Kentish businesses who were featured across our editorial and advertising pages, so we really do stand by our promise of celebrating the Best of Kent ® and beyond every single issue- and every single day online too! We love that we’ ve become such a source of inspiration for people across the county, as well as being able to wave the flag for Kent and its brilliant businesses and communities.
So, thank you to you all for choosing us as your go-to read for discovering the best of the county, and thank you to our fantastic business clients and partners for choosing us as the go-to publication for sharing your own great offerings.
Back to this issue as promised! Inside, like every month, you’ ll find some of the Best of Kent ® across a host of fabulously curated, inspiring content. This month, iKHQ has been heatwave-inspired as we are taking you to the water in every sense, as well as throwing in heaps of family fun to see you through the school holidays.
Boating Breaks brings you everything you need for a blissful staycation where water takes centre stage. For those who prefer to be beside it, On the Water rounds up a splash-filled selection of activities. We’ re also keeping things wonderfully coastal with a collection of fish-inspired recipes, alongside breezy blue interior trends guaranteed to bring a little seaside serenity into your home.
This month also marks Afternoon Tea Week, and what better excuse to indulge than with our carefully curated guide to some of Kent’ s finest afternoon teas? If your idea of summer is less wetsuit and more well-chilled glass in hand, we have you covered with our Sundowners & Summer Nights guide to the perfect places to while away a balmy evening, from vineyard tipples to Champagne toasts overlooking the Channel.
As always, you’ ll also find loads of local events and experiences to keep your diary full. So, pack the picnic, gather your favourite people and make the most of August in the Garden of England.
Here’ s to family fun, Kent!
