Naturally, the bathroom embraces the same colourful spirit as the rest of the house. A brushed brass finish was chosen to sit comfortably within the old building, lending warmth to the Victoria basin and the Le Thermo Grand concealed shower, both finished with the Solheim levers. The Deluge low-level cistern, paired with the Victoria W / C pan, became an unexpected showstopper which was painted in Graham & Brown’ s joyful‘ Fortune Cookie’ orange.“ We love our orange cistern and the complementing Catchpole & Rye sanitary ware is just gorgeous,” says Cristina.“ The Empire Lavatory Paper Holder and Empire Towel Ring complete the scheme with understated polish.”
Tell us about the other design choices made to complement the Catchpole & Rye design. How did this impact your final result? Around the Catchpole & Rye bathroom pieces, the room also incorporates Graham & Brown’ s New Eden Navy wallpaper, Calacatta Amber honed marble tiles from Mandarin Stone, panelling in the deep teal of Tiru, walls in Angel Dust white and a floor of reclaimed boards underfoot.
The final result is a bathroom- and a home- that pays homage to the layers of centuries the house wears while creating a comfortable family home. White Friars stands today as a celebration of heritage and personality in equal measure; an historic house, sensitively cared for and filled with colour, character and the people who love it.
