WELCOME

Summer is here! A season that arrives as the perfect excuse to get out and relish the beauty of our county- and we mean that in more ways than one. From spectacular gardens and wild landscapes to delicious seasonal treats and feel-good beauty inspiration, this month’ s issue is dedicated to making the most of everything Kent has to offer during its sunniest season.

We begin amongst the blooms with Garden Globetrotting, a celebration of some of Kent’ s most wonderful gardens. Whether you’ re seeking some horticultural inspiration, a peaceful stroll, or simply somewhere beautiful to while away an afternoon, these green spaces are guaranteed to impress. Our love affair with nature continues in Rewilding, where we explore Kent’ s commitment to protecting and restoring its natural environment, alongside a collection of nature-forward staycations that offer the perfect opportunity to reconnect with the great outdoors.
Of course, July also marks the beginning of the six-week summer holidays. Fear not, parents and grandparents- we’ ve done everything we can to help you avoid the dreaded“ I’ m bored!” chorus with our Six-Week Survival Guide. From affordable family fun to adrenaline-fuelled adventures, we’ ve rounded up the very best days out to keep everyone entertained. Add in our Kentish Diary of unmissable local events, festivals and attractions, and your summer calendar will be packed in no time.
If it’ s a four-legged family member you’ re entertaining this summer, we’ ve got that covered too- Dog Days rounds up Kent’ s best pooch-friendly pitstops, from coastal walks and countryside pubs to dog-welcoming attractions where tails are guaranteed to wag.
Beauty takes centre stage this month too- and not just the scenic kind, either. Rejuvenated launches a special feature dedicated to looking and feeling your very best, with everything from skin-deep restoration and aesthetic treatments to local hairdressing heroes helping Kent look fabulous from p124.
As the sunshine finally settles in, we’ re embracing the sweeter side of summer with a celebration of Kent’ s ice-cream season, alongside delicious summer berry recipes perfect for making the most of local produce. We’ ve also rounded up this season’ s top alfresco décor trends, helping you create the ultimate outdoor space for entertaining, relaxing and soaking up every last ray of sunshine.
Speaking of summer plans, we’ re filling our own insideKENT diary, too. You can catch the team at the Kent County Show this month- one of the highlights of the Kent calendar- and we’ d love to see you there. Be sure to stop by and say hello to the team!
Here’ s to longer days, warmer evenings, outdoor adventures and discovering even more reasons to love life in the Garden of England.
Happy summer exploring, Kent!
Samantha
