Aaron Rodgers: Best QB in football?
Jason Barbin
There are many great quarterbacks in the NFL. When the question is asked who the best among them is, many people will immediately throw out names like Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady. Sure they are the obvious answers and are definitely worthy of being regarded as the best quarterback in the league. With 12 touchdown passes in 2 weeks and numerous Superbowl rings, Steelers quarterback ‘Big’ Ben Roethlisberger can also put his hand up for the title. 3rd year pro Andrew Luck has recently been named by many experts around the NFL as being the best in the league. But there is one name that
is missing from that list. A name that has one thing in common with all those quarterbacks listed above (minus Luck). That name is Aaron Rodgers and that one thing he shares in common, he too has a Superbowl ring.
Aaron Rodgers was drafted in 2005 by the Green Bay Packers in the first round with the 25th overall pick. He was drafted with one thing in mind. He was going to be the man to take over from legendary Packers quarterback and future Hall of Famer, Brett Favre. While Favre was nearing the end of his career at the Packers, Rodgers patiently played second string, learning from the best, for 3 seasons before getting his shot in 2008. I won’t go into a blow by blow detail of his every game he has played since his debut but I will highlight the stats that matter and why they show that he is the best quarterback in the NFL.
