the world final at Ipswich as did Craig
Haxton.
As you can see, there is a lot more to
promoting a stockcar track than just turning
up on raceday. A whole host of paperwork
must be done during the week to ensure all
ORCi standards, NHRPA standards are
met, and relevant planning is done for not
only next weeks meeting, but the meetings
in the future too.
Off track, we have seen a change in
ownership be confirmed. The current
owners have built up the track from an
empty field, and got it to where it is today in
only 3 years. They feel that they have
taken the track as far as they possibly can
without any substantial financial
investment. As a result, a decision was
made to sell the complex to Charlie Hardie
– Father of Hot Rod Star, Willie Hardie.
After a series of meetings with Charlie, it
was found that he has stockcar racing at
heart, and has great plans for the venue,
and aims to turn it into a premier
motorsport complex in Scotland. It was also
announced that all current formula would
remain in place under new ownership.
As a result of this, and after various request
from spectators and drivers, we have
decided to throw an end of season party on
Over the last month, at Spedeworth
Scotland, we’ve had a few important
achievements for our drivers and our track.
We seen Stuart Gilchrist, Superstox 177
take the points championship here at
Lochgelly, and win the World
Championship at Ipswich as well. A great
month for Stuart and Superstox racing in
Scotland. Meanwhile, in the 1300 stock
cars, Fraser Clark won the Scottish points
championship, and put in a good show in

our last weekend of promoting stock car
racing before the new owners take over.
On the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of
November, we have decided to run both
Saturday and Sunday with almost every
formula competing. Two days of racing for
the 1300s and Superstox have been
confirmed, so we hope to get a few visiting
drivers for that weekend, so that we can go
out with a bang. Speaking of going out with
a bang, we will have 2l Bangers taking part
in a team event on the Sunday (teams of
4), Junior Bangers and a caravan banger
demolition derby to round things off.
The Saturday night will also see a
firework display and an after party,
where we will host our annual awards
night and have a bit of a farewell party –
Everyone is invited, but tickets must be
bought as they are going quick!
