STARTRAX update ...
By the time you read this second edition
of Inside Stock Car World, the Startrax
`Summer speed weeks’ series will have
come to an end. If you have been lucky
enough to go to all of our meetings you
will have seen 9 events in 43 days! The
final event was at Coventry’s Brandon
Stadium on the 2nd / 3rd of Sept and
delivered some fantastic shale racing.
Finnikin was the man to beat in the
premier class showing us why he’s F1s
shale champion.
So what have we for September? Well
after our World Championship two-weeks
break when all roads lead to Barford and
Skegness, Startrax returns.
On Saturday 22nd September and
Sunday 30th we will host two
extraordinary events!
First up is `back to the future’ with Stoke
on 22nd at 5.pm when the Big League
Stockers return for their second and final
visit of 2012. Their return after an 11 year
30
absence to this very basic venue in
August caused rave reviews - Well, it
gets even bigger, Stoke holds the BriSCA
F1 National Series SHOOT OUT #3 and
the 12 big guns in the hunt are expected
to make an appearance!
The meeting is sponsored by RICHARD
BALDWIN MOTORHOMES (Motor home
specialist). Don’t miss `real’ stockcar
racing like it used to be. Who
remembers Nelson Stadium up there in
Lancashire? Well, Stoke is like a big
Nelson and a real stockcar drivers track,
delivers loads of action for the
spectators.
The F1s are backed-up by the V8 Hot
Stox British Championship and the
National Ministox add to the action. It
promises to be a BriSCA purist’s night
out - my advice, get there early!
Junior. He celebrates 25 years in BriSCA
F1 at Manchester’s’ Belle Vue stadium.
This surely will be a special day to
remember. The rumours are true, 391
will be on track, Mr Sworder will be in
attendance and driver numbers are
expected to swell, as many drivers wish
to show their respect for FWJ!
A few generations of the Wainman clan
will be on track and a few cheer leaders
will be in the stands me thinks. There
has been a significant amount of interest
from Holland and elsewhere, and it just
keeps growing. Keep your eyes on the
Startrax website for more
announcements. Don’t miss this one!
Fast-track advance tickets are on sale for
both events - or simply pay at the gates
on the day.
Second up and 8 days later we celebrate
