What ever happened to ‘The Likely Lads’ ...

Before we take a look at some of the
hopefuls for this year’s World
Championship, I’m going to take you
back 22 years to the 1990 BRISCA
Stock Car World Final held at the
Odsall Stadium Bradford.
I have my reasons, bear with me ...
when you take a look at the grid list
overleaf, you could be forgiven for
thinking that you’ve just stumbled
across your dad’s collection of old
stockcar magazines, as the names (and
numbers) of the front runners are still the same.
John Lund
Here is a little trip down memory lane for those of
us who were watching over two decades ago.
We’ve dug out some of the old photos of the
stunningly handsome front runners. We can
show you what they looked like, and yes, they
really did have that much hair!. We can show
you their cars and of course, their names. If you
don’t know them, you either know their parents,
their children or their grandchildren.
Theoretically, they were all in with a chance of
winning the coveted World Championship title
back then ...
