Holly Glen - #321 BriSCA F2 UNSUNG HEROINE You can probably count on one hand how many sports there are where men and women race on equal terms. Stock Car racing IS one of those very special sports where women are taken as serious competitors and in recent years, are coming out on top and taking the Gold title. So, when “Inside Stockcar World” bumped into Holly Glen at the Formula Two World Finals at Barford, we decided to showcase her as our “F2 Unsung Heroine” Holly says: "I guess the credit goes to my Mum for this - I've turned out to be just like her." As Holly puts it “My Mum and Dad raced bangers in the 80s so back then, I really had no option but to go along with them. In recent years, my dad has helped my cousin Steve Nicol race Ministox and then later on race F2s. This fact gave my Mum all the leverage she needed and told my Dad, if he'd helped cousin Steve, he’s got to help me! It was always on the cards that I’d race the ovals and after seeing my cousin Steve, it was agreed that I could race Ministox.” Holly raced for four years under the number 621 and in her fianl year won many races including the Colin Scott and Barry Dale memorial trophies. These were only topped by Holly winning both Knockhill and Cowdeneath points titles and coming second in the Scottish championships securing her the prestigious “Driver of the year” award.
