Proud father Ian Barton with Daughter Jayne
The final meeting of the season
at Warton Raceway came to an
end over the weekend. All the
“Gold Top” points’ champions
were crowned in each class after
what has been a very intense
40th year anniversary season.
Ian Barton #106 has been the
bridesmaid far too many times in
the Outlaw Stockcar class, so to
see him take top honours in front
of a great late season crowd was
a pleasure for many of his family,
friends and fans.
To add to the
celebrations
his daughter
Jayne took
Gold in the
Ministox
class but made it
quite clear she
had more
points than
dad and had
secured her
title at
the previous meeting.
Jayne is also a very
accomplished horse woman and
26
is often torn between horse
jumping events and stockcar
racing at Warton. When we
asked her which do you like best,
fifty horse power stox racing or
one horse power show jumping?
Jayne wouldn’t be pressed but
said: “I say look out Dad, your
seat in the Outlaw class is in
jeopardy! Come the end of next
season, I’ll be eligible to race
with the big boys.
