News from the
Derbyshire Hills
Buxton raceway held the White and Yellows
Championship for the BriSCA Formula Two
Stock Cars on 21st October. This was a very
well supported race and points have been
scored throughout the year towards the lineup, by all who wanted to be crowned the
Whites and Yellows Champion.
The race win went to Steve Smith from
Wigan, second went to Gary Wrench from
Crewe and third to Ben Lockwood from his
Huddersfield base.
Other news for the BriSCA F2s was that we
crowned Mickey Brennan, the current World
Champion and Buxton Track Champion,
after his faultless driving throughout 2012.
AND, to top off his current form, he took the
meeting Final Win on Sunday.
Also featuring were the Junior Rods, these
drivers are children aged 10 to 16 racing
1200cc race cars. These cars are normal
everyday cars with some minor alterations.
The cars range from Citroen Saxos.
Vauxhall Novas and even a Citroen C1.
These drivers have come on leaps and
bounds and the racing and number of racers
show this. This formula is growing every
meeting and is certainly one way to keep
your children entertained. If you wish to take

The 1300 Saloon Stock Cars were in
attendance for their Northern Championship
and with points scored throughout the
meeting to form a closed grid, the final
action was guaranteed.
Michael Haslam from Biddulph took the win
and was the driver to watch - leading from
flag to flag with a terrific piece of driving.
Chesney Marson from Leek came second
and third place went to Michael’s brother
Malcolm, after a close battle with the
Marriott Autos cars of Charlie Marriott and
Dan Burkin.
