ll eyes were on the Brits a few
weekends back as they invaded the
Netherlands, once there the best
drivers from Britain took on the
might of the Nordic F1 league of drivers on
the fantastic asphalt raceway at Venray, but
first they had to qualify via pre-race heats on
the Saturday. A report on the “GOLD CUP”
race has already been featured elsewhere in
the magazine. So, here we tip our hats to
the Feature Final winner Luke Davidson
#464 who drove a faultless race to take the
“LONG TRACK MEMORIAL TROPHY” and
as trophies go it is a corker. The pictures
show just how happy “Team Davidson” was
after taking this prestigious title home to
Manchester.
Inside stock car world roving reporter Jack
Lord Jnr spoke to Luke when he arrived
back in England and here’s what Luke had
to say.
“The whole weekend went very well to be
fair. We secured some good heat places on
Saturdays qualifying races, and this meant I
qualified for the main Gold Cup race on
Sunday. In the big race I started on row
twelve and after an exciting race we
managed to finish 6th, it was a great result

for us and was a thank you for all the hard
work the guys have put in preparing and
setting up my car this season”.
“Although I didn't finish the next two heats,
(we had brake issues) the team got stuck in
and sorted the problems for the Feature
Final. Straight out of the blocks, the car felt
great and I managed to break away from the
reds. With the car feeling so good I raced on
towards the flag knowing that I had to catch
Ivan Pritchard #434 to win it, and with about
five laps to run I did. The only problem was I
could see Tom Harris #84 looming large in
the mirrors, but this time - he didn't have
enough to get past me.
I was very happy crossing the line 1st. It
finished off our great weekend of racing and
I‘ve repaid the team with some silverware to
take home”
Well done to Luke Davidson #464 a great
result for what some may say as a trying
season, ISCW magazine wishes him well for
the rest of the season and hopes team mate
Rob Speak can emulate this win on W/F day
at Kings Lynn.

K
eep your eyes open for inside stock
car world’s latest magazine seller.
Julie Fenton is often seen at some
of the most remote tracks around
the country as well as the better known
ones. As a long-time fan of stock car racing
Julie can often be seen at three or four
different tracks in one week such is her love
of the sport.
Julie met her husband Peter (a Frankie
Wainman fan) way back at Stu Smiths
testimonial in December 1986; he was #85
Ray Tyldesley’s mechanic. Her occupation is
a Lollipop lady and her hobbies include her
duties as a Scout leader.
Julie is a long time Lundy fan and
remembers well Belle Vue in 1986 where the
Dash for cash went to Lundy #53. Her
favourite shale track is Belle Vue and
favourite tarmac track is Birmingham.
Favourite drivers are # 53 + # 515. First race
WF memory is from 1987 # 53 winning his
first world title and after shouting so loud for
him to win she lost her voice. Other formulas
that Julie likes watching are F2s, minis,
stoxkarts and V8s.
Julies not camera shy so make sure you
have your picture taken with her then send
us the result. The funnier the better and we
will give a stock car book “Back Track - The
Golden Years of Oval Racing by Richard
John Neil” for the one we like the best and
we will print it in the next issue of ISCW.
