“Thunder Vally Raceway”
A warm welcome to you all.
We're excited to be part of this
new magazine and get the
chance to promote our
Scotland track. We’re going to
tell you a bit about the history
and then bring you right up-tospeed with what's been
happening at the track.
Thunder Valley Raceway is
now in its 3rd season of
promoting stock car racing and
first opened its doors in 2010
operating as an independent
track before getting involved
with Spedeworth. Stock car

lovers will be glad to hear that
it's a proper stock car track. It
works well with really close
non-contact racing and is a
very good contact track without
a massive risk of totalling your
car. Wide corners and plenty of
infield run-offs means that cars
being spun can quickly re-join
and get back in amongst the
action.
In 2011, the track hosted two
major events for the
Spedeworth formula, 'The
1300 World Championship' and
'The Superstox British
Championship'. Both were a
huge success and with great
comments coming from visiting
drivers.
This year we’ve already seen
'The Superstox European
Championship' take place in
June with over 30 cars taking
part. A wet weekend limited the
amount of big hits, but
spectators still got to see the
kind of action they spend their
hard earned money on with
plenty of nudging, spinning,
cars all around the track and
back markers scattered
amongst the leaders.
