HERITAGE stockcars Back to the future Photo by: Stu Stretton George Rimmer’s Heritage Journey Inside Stockcar World. It’s hard to believe that BriSCA Heritage has been active now for almost a decade, since founder Keith Barber's vision finally came to reality at the 2004 Golden Jubilee meeting. Keith restored the famous vintage Harold 'Bozzy' Bosworth car back in 1971 and it was always his pipe dream to have a 'rolling museum' of iconic old cars to illustrate 'the good old days'. Since then, Mr Barber has joined forces with veteran driver and ex-truck racer Roy Clark and the Heritage class has flourished and grown beyond all expectations. The original handful of old cars shown at exhibitions has been transformed into an entire exhibition in its own right with several divisions each providing fast and furious on-track action. Those initial events saw small >> Ford Pop and Model Y Juniors happily mixing with much larger 50s American Coupes, some 1960s F1 cars and even a huge Cadillac Coupe de Ville at one point. Although it was visually spectacular to see these classics reliving oval race history, increased numbers brought health and safety issues which meant the cars had to run in separate classes.
