Classic Hednesford - Classi
ESTABLISHED in the 50s,
Hednesford Hills Raceway track
sits high on Cannock Chase just a
mile from Hednesford Town in
Staffordshire. It's built on a former
reservoir site with a quarter mile
tarmac oval and banked corners
safely protected with 'armco'
barriers.
The site gives the obvious
advantage of providing
spectacular panoramic views of
the track from the grass banks and
the two covered grandstands.
It has established a well earned
reputation of
being
the
fastest short
oval raceway
in the UK with
cars hitting the sort
of speeds that
entertain the crowds
season after season.
Hordes of Hot Rods, Lightning
Rods, Stock Rods and Oval Track
Legends will provide great
entertainment at the spectacular

annual National Championship
weekend at the beginning of
August. It's sure to be the
highlight of the year for many of
you and a great weekend for all
the family.
But, you don't always need great
weather to make your day.
Chances are, if it's cold, dull and
damp it's likely to be another bank
holiday and May Day 2012 was no
exception.
Probably the dream programme
for many was the fact that National
Hot Rods and Classics Hot Rods
were together on the same
bill. On my 'to do' list for
the day was the opening
appearance for the
Classic Hot Rods.
