Military Connection Center

For the fifth year in a row, Old Dominion University has been ranked as a top 30 school“ Best for Vets” by the national publication Military Times. As a result, The Military Connection Center was applauded for its resources for student veterans, extracurricular activities and retention rate for veteran students. The Military Connection Center functions as a resource and referral center to assist veteran, active duty, reservists, and members of their families, make a successful initial and on-going transition to Old Dominion University.
The Military Connection Center hosts a personalized Military to Monarch transition program at the beginning of the fall and the spring semester for new military-affiliated students to provide an overview about ODU, the various departments, and the resources that are available to assist students. Dr. Ellen Neufeldt welcomes the students and it also provides an opportunity for military students to meet and mingle with each other as they begin their ODU journey.
Another signature event held by the Military Connection Center is the Graduation Cord Ceremony. This ceremony is held at the end of each semester to personally recognize graduating student veterans.
