Unit Spotlight
Office of Intercultural Relations
To celebrate inclusion and unity on campus, Old Dominion University held the first Unity Fest
on Thursday, April 21, from noon to 2 p.m. on Kaufman Mall. Sponsored by the Office of Intercultural
Relations in collaboration with student organizations, the Unity Fest celebrated Monarch culture
among student organizations and the general student body. More than 700 students volunteered
at Unity Fest, and interactive unity stations engaged students, faculty, and staff and more than
1,400 were in attendance.
Guests enjoyed a performance by the Monarch Dynasty Dance Team along with the
unveiling of the official Unity Wall banner. This banner showcased more than 70 participating
student organization names and logos as a symbol of committed unity. The Unity Wall Banner now
hangs in the South Mall of Webb University Center as a permanent fixture.
We can’t wait until next year’s Unity Fest!
