Registrar’s Office
Spring was an exciting time in the Registrar’s Office; students were preparing to graduate in
May while others were registering for courses in the coming fall semester. However, this spring was
quite special. More than 3,000 students graduated in May, which represented the largest number
to date. The graduation team was certainly busy awarding degrees and printing diplomas.
Registration for fall semester is different this time around as the Registrar’s Office rolled out the
upgraded LEO Online registration tool called XE Registration. Monarchs will have better search
options when looking for courses like the ability to use keywords, limit to open classes, and find
classes offered online. This new look is 100% responsive in design, so it works with smartphones,
tablets, and PCs. Plus, every student gets a personalized, color-coded calendar which they can
then email to family and even download to their smartphone’s calendar.
We will be saying a fond farewell this summer to our University Registrar, Mary Swartz. While we are
sad to see her go, she leaves behind her a legacy of encouraging adoption of new technology
and processes to make registration and graduation easier for the entire campus community.
