In October , we held our first annual Rea Foundation Gala . But don ’ t let the name “ gala ” fool you – we ’ re not “ black tie ” kind of people so this wasn ’ t a “ black tie ” kind of event . About 125 team members attended dressed in their favorite causal Fall attire . Between ticket sales , basket auction , and “ fund the mission ” donations , the Foundation raised more than $ 90,000 at the gala . “ We ’ re thrilled to have had such tremendous support from across the firm for this charitable event ,” said Rick Lash , fundraising chair for the Rea Foundation . “ The support we see for The Rea Foundation grows with every passing year , and we hope to make next year ’ s gala even larger .”

FOOD DRIVE
For nearly 20 years , the Rea team has engaged in a friendly office-to-office food drive competition to see who can collect the most donations for local organizations and food banks . For the 17th annual food drive , Rea ’ s Zanesville office took the top prize – for the second year in a row . Firmwide , more than 40,500 pounds of food was collected . ( Every dollar collected counts as two pounds of food .) Since beginning the food drive in 2003 , the firm has donated more than 410,000 pounds of food , which benefit area nonprofit organizations committed to helping local families in need .
