Dinosaur National Monument, Utah and Colorado( now – Jan. 4, 2027)
This relatively remote park that spans the Utah / Colorado border has openings for campground hosts at each of three remote riverside campgrounds. Hosts are responsible for meeting and monitoring visitor compliance with park rules, restocking toilet facilities and making sure campgrounds are clean. At Echo Park Campground( 20 sites) and Deerlodge Campground( 7 sites) the host stays in a basic cabin, while Gates of Lenore Campground( 19 sites) has two host sites: one RV pad with hookups plus a one-bedroom apartment attached to the ranger station. Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas( now – Aug. 27, 2026)
A camp host position is available at Dog Canyon Campground. The campground is
Dog Canyon tent site in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. at an elevation of 5,700 feet in a remote area near the Texas / New Mexico border two hours north of the park visitor center. It is most easily approached from Carlsbad, NM, on a series of gravel, dirt and paved roads. The campground has 9 tent sites and four RV sites without hookups, plus one group site. The host site has full hookups. The volunteer is expected to collect litter and help visitors and assist in emergencies such as search and rescue. Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia / North Carolina( May 1 – Nov. 2, 2026)
The Blue Ridge Parkway posted openings for campground hosts at six locations along the scenic 469-mile route that winds through Virginia and North Carolina. The six from north to south are Otter Creek( milepost 60.8), Peaks of Otter( 85.9), Rocky Knob( 167.9), Julian Price Park( 297.2), Doughton Park( 239.2) and Mount Pisgah( 408.8). Tasks include helping visitors find a campsite, roving the campground and talking with campers, keeping the campground free of litter and stocking and cleaning comfort stations.
