The past few years have seen new hotels spring up all over the island. From Ushuaia’s two resorts, to Pacha’s newest chic resort Destino and the announcement that 2014 will see a Hard Rock Hotel opened in Playa den Bossa, the hotel market has never been healthier. But look past the island’s mega-venues and you’ll find some rather exciting new gems – notably, Urban Spaces, the new boutique hotel and interactive art project located in the centre of Ibiza Town. Inspired by a similar project in New York, this hotel has been curated and designed with the help of some of the UK and Ibiza’s most renowned street artists, including Inkie, Lauren Baker, Mikey Brain and more. It’s kitsch style, central location and boutique feel means that the guys here have been innovative in the approach to their guests and have gone out of their way to put a strong focus on hospitality and service, with a friendly and homely feel that can easily become lost in the haze of Ibiza’s nightlife. Each of the 16 rooms have been designed by a different artist with different concepts and completely unique styles. Bristol-based street art pioneer Inkie has had a massive influence on the hotel, and you’ll find a range of artwork, vivid colours and original and inspiring pieces, not just in the rooms, but in the hallways, entrance and restaurant.
